About us:

The Specialist Outpatients Department (SOPD) is a busy, diverse team based across three levels of Rockhampton Hospital, supporting patients across nine major specialties including Cardiology, Dermatology, Ear Nose and Throat, General Surgery, General Medicine, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Urology.

With visiting clinics, outreach services and Telehealth appointments, every day brings something different. Our team works closely with services across the hospital and community, including Renal Services, Cancer Care, Allied Health and Community Services, to provide coordinated, patient-focused care.

About the role:

  • Works within the Registered Nurse Domains of Practice.
  • Assumes responsibility for delivering competent, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensures safe, reliable, and high-quality patient care.

About you:

  • Promotes safe, high-quality care through best practice, quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance patient care through continuous quality improvement.
  • Applies strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking to deliver person-centred care.
  • Maintains contemporary nursing practice through knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $127,861 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
