About the role

The Principal House Officer/Registrar – Obstetrics & Gynaecology contributes to the provision of high-quality, effective and equitable clinical services within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Redcliffe Hospital. Working under the supervision of senior medical staff, the role supports the delivery of contemporary obstetric and gynaecological care while contributing to medical education, professional development and positive patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will participate in the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients across a range of obstetric and gynaecological presentations. The role involves direct patient care, clinical decision-making, documentation and coordination of investigations and treatments, while supporting the ongoing delivery of safe, patient-centred healthcare services across Metro North Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide obstetric and gynaecological clinical services under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
  • Undertake patient assessments, clinical examinations and identification of clinical issues to support appropriate treatment and care planning.
  • Arrange investigations, medical management, surgical treatment and discharge activities in accordance with consultant direction and clinical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely medical records, discharge summaries and clinical correspondence.
  • Contribute to medical education, knowledge sharing and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care that supports service excellence.
