Your opportunity: 

  • To participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to the hospital patients in consultation with consultants, visiting specialists, nurses and allied health professionals.
  • To contribute to the continual upgrading of medical education, and dissemination of knowledge to staff and patients.
  • This position description is general for all Principal House Officer's in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service and specific duties will vary dependent upon the clinical specialty. For this role, 6 monthly PHO rotations may be organised between the Departments of Intensive Care and Internal Medicine based on clinical service priorities and existing reciprocal recruitment arrangements. Individual training needs as well as alignment with the Statewide vocational trainee recruitment pathways will be considered when such rotations are organised. Each position is supervised by senior medical staff, although a reasonable degree of autonomy is expected.

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $185,511 p.a., comprising salary between $137,196 - $158,618 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy (L4 - L9) (Several Temporary Full Time Positions, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension).
