Role details
The Capital Projects team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
- To lead, manage and direct one or more medium to large scale projects within the constraints of scope, budget, schedule and quality, while ensuring they are completed within the Queensland Health project management methodology (Project Lifecycle).
- Implement and maintain adequate policy, processes, systems and internal control to ensure effective and efficient support for the coordination and delivery of the Capital Works Program.
- Provide budgetary, financial, and technical support for the Capital Delivery Program in order to enable the smooth operation of the projects.
About the Team
The Capital Project Team is accountable for the end-to-end planning, design, and delivery of small to medium capital projects across the entire Mackay HHS. The team ensures that all projects are strategically aligned, scoped effectively, and executed to meet operational, clinical, and infrastructure needs.
Project delivery is underpinned by project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting practices. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, proactive risk management, and a commitment to quality outcomes, the team supports the enhancement, sustainability, and modernisation of health service facilities and assets.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
