The Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU) protects and improves the health of communities across North Queensland through prevention, early intervention and outbreak response. Working alongside health professionals, government agencies and the community, the multidisciplinary team delivers programs that reduce the spread of communicable disease and promote healthier communities.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $139,951 to $151,949 p.a. (NG7).
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading.
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
  • Laundry and locality allowances may apply.
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available.

About your opportunity:

As a Public Health Nurse, you'll play a key role in protecting the health of North Queensland communities within the THHS region. You'll use your clinical expertise to respond to public health risks, deliver prevention and health promotion initiatives, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent) and proof of registration (AHPRA).
  • Possession of a Class C driver's licence.
  • Travel may be required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks apply.
