About the role
The Senior Mental Health Clinician provides high-quality, evidence-based allied health services as part of the Early Psychosis Team within Metro North Mental Health. Working with young people experiencing emerging and complex mental illness, the role delivers specialised assessment, intervention and care planning services that support recovery-focused outcomes for consumers, their families and carers.
The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical services for consumers experiencing first episode psychosis, including comprehensive assessment, formulation, risk management and therapeutic interventions. The role also contributes to clinical leadership, service improvement, education and supervision activities within a multidisciplinary team environment, supporting the ongoing development of innovative early psychosis services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver advanced mental health assessments, formulation, risk management and evidence-based interventions for young people experiencing first episode psychosis and complex mental health presentations.
- Provide recovery-focused, trauma-informed and culturally safe care, supporting consumers, families and carers to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, external service providers and key stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive and individualised care.
- Provide clinical leadership, consultation and professional support to team members, including supervision, education and mentoring of less experienced clinicians and students.
- Contribute to quality improvement, service development, research and evaluation activities that enhance the delivery of innovative early psychosis services.
