About us:

At CHHHS Medical Imaging Service, we operate across ten state-of-the-art imaging sites with Cairns Hospital Medical Imaging being our largest and most advanced facility. We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional studies including General and Mobile Radiography, Theatre Imaging, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET-CT).

Additionally, our team provides essential support for Digital Subtraction Angiography in our hybrid theatre and Coronary Angiography in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The CHHHS Medical Imaging Service at Cairns Hospital is well-equipped to meet the diverse imaging needs of the community it serves with a focus on advanced technology, efficiency and comprehensive care. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you'll be at the forefront of providing and/or supporting critical emergency, inpatient and outpatient imaging services. Our cutting-edge filmless Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) ensures seamless and efficient workflow, supporting approximately 162,000 examinations annually.

Where it is in the patient's best interest or the imaging service is unable to facilitate the examination, patient's will be outsourced to local private providers.  Ensuring patient and staff navigate the outsourcing process is key to this role.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will…

  • Process requests and manage appointment scheduling in collaboration with clinical staff to ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and Policy Framework for the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Advise clients of the billing processes for chargeable patients. Use and knowledge of the Medirecords billing system.
  • Maintain and order all supplies for the outpatient/clinical area through the appropriate program/process.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the department including answering routine reception and phone calls whilst providing accurate information to clients, visitors and staff accessing the department.
