The Clinical Assistant Coordinator works to achieve both organisational and personal objectives. The supervisor undertakes operational supervision of the work unit, leads staff, and oversees training & development for clinical assistants. This is a fixed term 12-month opportunity for the best suited applicant.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use computerised systems
  • Experience in pre-analytical processes and excellent troubleshooting abilities in a Microbiology specimen reception and pre-analytical processing section.
  • Demonstrated ability to arrange in-service training and continuing educational programs for clinical assistant staff and delivery of training programs for changes in Standard Operating Procedures or equipment.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to effectively manage the customer service function in alignment with the overall strategic plan of the Department.
