The Financial Accounting team delivers trusted financial services that help keep CQ Health operating efficiently and responsibly. By providing expert accounting advice, maintaining strong financial governance, supporting corporate financial systems, and ensuring compliance with legislative and reporting requirements, the team enables informed decision-making across the organisation.

Our work underpins accurate financial reporting, effective use of public resources, and continuous improvement of financial processes, helping ensure healthcare services have the financial support needed to deliver care to communities across Central Queensland.

About the role:

  • Coordinate treasury and banking functions across CQHHS, managing bank accounts, investments, cash flow and banking products to ensure funds are available for service delivery.
  • Manage reconciliations, trust funds, corporate cards, petty cash and financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies and best practice.
  • Support accurate revenue recognition, prepare journals and accruals, reconcile billing systems and accounts, and contribute to month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Act as the key liaison between Finance and Revenue teams, deliver high-level stakeholder support, prepare cash flow forecasts, resolve financial discrepancies and provide strategic assistance to senior leadership.

About you:

  • Holding a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Economics or other relevant disciplines and holding a certified Practicing Accountant/Chartered Accountant designation is considered highly desirable.
  • High level knowledge of financial principles and concepts with experience coordinating activities related to banking and treasury functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in relation to revenue functions; with both written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and advise internal and external stakeholders on policies and procedures for Revenue and Treasury.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $134,984 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.83 - $59.66 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
