Your new role:

As our Recreational Officer, you'll play an important role in creating meaningful experiences that promote wellbeing, social connection and independence for residents by:

  • Designing, implementing and evaluating engaging recreation and lifestyle programs tailored to individual needs.
  • Coordinating community outings, special events and group activities that encourage participation and enjoyment.
  • Working collaboratively with nursing, allied health professionals, residents and families to support person-centred care.
  • Monitoring and evaluating activity outcomes while maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that enhances residents' quality of life.

About you:

You are a compassionate and enthusiastic recreation professional who enjoys building genuine relationships and creating positive experiences for others, with:

  • Experience delivering recreation, leisure or lifestyle programs within aged care, disability or healthcare settings.
  • The ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds using empathy, respect and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to person-centred care and delivering high-quality services that improve residents' wellbeing.
  • Relevant qualifications in Leisure and Health or equivalent experience, together with the ability to meet the role's mandatory requirements.
