About your role

As the Clinical Midwife Consultant – Patient Safety Officer, you'll provide advanced clinical leadership within the Clinical Governance Unit, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality care across Bayside Health Service.

In this role you will:

  • Lead patient safety and clinical governance initiatives across the service.
  • Coordinate and support clinical incident investigations and reviews.
  • Provide expert advice on patient safety, quality and risk management.
  • Analyse clinical data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and HEAPS review processes.
  • Support accreditation, clinical audits and governance activities.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based quality improvement strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships with clinicians, executives and consumers.
  • Mentor and educate staff in patient safety and clinical governance.

About you

You're an experienced and collaborative midwife who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through clinical governance, quality improvement and evidence-based practice. 

You'll bring:

  • Expertise in patient safety, clinical governance and quality improvement.
  • Experience leading clinical incident investigations and reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of NSQHS Standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience interpreting clinical data to drive service improvements.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field are highly regarded.
