Digital Metro North (DMN) is the technology and digital delivery arm of Metro North Health, Australia's largest hospital and health service. The team works closely with clinicians and partners including eHealth Queensland to deliver the systems, infrastructure and support that enable safe, high-quality patient care every day.
Driving a significant digital transformation agenda, Digital Metro North is currently implementing the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across the health service, delivering major digital initiatives under the Queensland Government's Hospital Rescue Plan, and executing the three-year Digital Delivery Plan. These programs are shaping a connected, digital-first healthcare environment that supports new models of care, improves patient outcomes and enhances clinician experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis, Initiation & Engagement (BAIE) you will serve as a key liaison between end users and technical teams, ensuring business requirements, process models, and supporting documentation are clearly defined, rigorously analysed, and effectively delivered within a complex digital program and project environment, with a particular focus on strengthening early-stage initiation practices.
The successful candidate will lead the ongoing development and enhancement of investment processes for DMN, including the review, refinement, and embedding of streamlined practices that support a consistent, formalised approach to initiation and investment analysis services.
- This role is full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am – 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Lead and manage business analysis activities to proactively anticipate requirements and identify opportunities for improvement across a large and complex digital projects and program environment.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the business analysis framework in accordance with Metro North Health and DMN standards.
- Lead the safe, ethical, and responsible use of artificial intelligence within business analysis practice, ensuring human oversight, data privacy, and accountability are maintained throughout requirements elicitation, process modelling, and documentation activities, in accordance with Queensland Health and Digital Metro North standards.
- Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business operations and workflows, establishing a robust foundation for the development of improved structures, processes, and systems.
- Provide strategic and operational advice on project and program direction for business analysis activities, including business process modelling, requirements elicitation, data modelling, and use case development, aligned to business needs and requirements.
- Lead and ensure requirements gathering, modelling, and stakeholder management activities comply with DMN developed and approved standards, methods, tools, and notation.
- Lead the development of business and software requirements specifications for digital projects, ensuring requirements traceability is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
