The Project Officer – QCH Equipment Replacement supports the Program Manager and Project Manager – QCH Equipment Replacement with the safe and successful delivery of multiple large-scale equipment replacement and upgrade projects at Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH). This role will provide program support, coordination of project activities, secretariat and administration functions. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining high-quality, safe and functional facilities that support exceptional care for children, young people and their families.

About the Team

The Critical Care team provides highly specialised clinical services, including Emergency Department, Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, Anaesthetics, Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology Services, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), CHQ Retrievals Service, Simulation Training Optimising Resuscitation for Kids (STORK) and Queensland Interdisciplinary Paediatric Persistent Pain Service. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced and complex healthcare environment, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of critical and elective services across the hospital.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Provide high-level project coordination, administrative, logistical and governance support to the Program Manager and Project Manager within the QCH Equipment Replacement program, including co-ordination of meetings, preparation of agendas, recording and distribution of minutes, action tracking, project documentation and report preparation.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple projects to support delivery within required scope, quality, time and cost.
  • Assist with risk and issue management, financial tracking and governance support across multiple equipment replacement projects.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate project activities, provide timely project updates and support safe, timely and high-quality project delivery, including the management of potential impacts to hospital operations and healthcare services.
  • Support project compliance activities and maintain project records in accordance with Queensland Health policies, governance requirements, legislative obligations and organisational standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including submissions, briefing notes, project plans, progress reports, records and closure reports to support project governance and decision-making as required.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders on all project related matters and coordinate, implement and consult on project delivery decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide effective and appropriate communication to multiple and varied stakeholders from both contracted service provider and the clinical and non-clinical teams of CHQ.
  • Participate as an effective team member and work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholder groups to achieve outcomes and identify risks and issues and mitigation strategies.
