About us:

At Gladstone Hospital, our Operational Services team keeps the hospital running smoothly so our clinical teams can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

We provide a wide range of essential support services across Gladstone Hospital, Gladstone Community Health Service and surrounding facilities, including food services, cleaning, ward support, porterage, linen and waste management, and fire, safety and security.

As part of our Ward Services team, you'll play an important role behind the scenes by assisting with patient transfers, transporting equipment and supporting Operating Theatres (to name a few!) and helping maintain a safe, efficient environment for patients, visitors and staff.

About the role:

  • Assisting with patient transfers and porterage, helping patients safely reach appointments and treatment areas.
  • Working alongside nurses and healthcare professionals to support patient care, including lifting, turning, escorting, shaving and assisting with personal care.
  • Providing valuable clinical support by completing a range of non-clinical tasks that help our healthcare teams deliver exceptional care.
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment by carrying out cleaning duties across designated areas.

About you:

  • Great communicator who enjoys helping people and building positive relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Work well independently while also being a reliable and supportive member of the team.
  • Understand the importance of infection prevention and consistently follow safe work practices.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality service and contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $40.42 - $43.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
