About the role

As a Health Information Manager, I contribute to a team-based approach to ensure the accurate and timely collection of morbidity data to meet Queensland Health reporting requirements. I work closely with hospital clinicians to improve data quality, timeliness and Activity Based Funding outcomes, while supporting Health Information Service quality activities such as auditing, education, DRG and PICQ coding audits.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Initiate, manage and participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Participate in the Coder-Clinician Liaison (CCL) program to clarify coding and SNAP queries and improve documentation.
  • Participate in targeted Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) reviews and other coding audits for data quality improvement purposes.
  • Manage own continuous knowledge of clinical coding, ABF, and performance monitoring including new developments, legislation, and industry standards.
