About us:

Central Queensland Health's Occupational Therapy service offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people across the region, helping them regain independence, improve their wellbeing and return to the everyday activities that matter to them. The service reaches across Rockhampton, Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, the Capricorn Coast and Mount Morgan, supporting patients through hospital admission, recovery, discharge and specialist outpatient care.

With a diverse mix of acute, sub-acute, ambulatory, paediatric and mental health services, Occupational Therapists work across a broad range of specialties. It's a diverse service where every day brings new opportunities to support people at different stages of their health journey.

About the role:

  • Lead neonatal and paediatric Occupational Therapy services across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
  • Provide complex clinical care including assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning.
  • Work across diverse specialties including Intensive Care, Emergency, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cancer and Palliative Care.
  • Lead service development and improvement through education, research, evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
  • Mentor and support clinicians while promoting collaborative, transdisciplinary care and strong partnerships with children, families and health teams.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration with an annual practising certificate.
  • High-level knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary, evidence-based neonatal and paediatric Occupational Therapy practice.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with consumers, families, teams and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated professional leadership skills, including the ability to provide expert clinical advice and supervise and develop staff.
  • Ability to lead, implement and evaluate quality and service improvement initiatives and effectively drive positive change.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,113 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
