Your new role:

As our Trade Supervisor – Electrical, you'll lead a skilled team responsible for maintaining critical electrical infrastructure that supports patient care across Metro South Health facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, operational reliability and continuous service improvement. You will:

  • Lead, supervise and develop electricians, apprentices, trade assistants and contractors to deliver high-quality maintenance outcomes.
  • Manage the maintenance and compliance of high and low voltage electrical networks, substations, switchboards, UPS systems and essential hospital infrastructure.
  • Provide expert technical leadership as the facility's Qualified Technical Person (QTP) and Site Switching Coordinator, ensuring safe systems of work and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve asset performance, support maintenance planning and drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple health facilities.

About you:

We're looking for an experienced electrical leader who combines strong technical capability with a passion for safety, collaboration and continuous improvement. You have:

  • Qualification as an Electrician with demonstrated experience managing high voltage electrical infrastructure, statutory compliance and electrical maintenance operations.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising trade teams, contractors and apprentices while fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical legislation, Australian Standards, asset management principles and safe work practices, including HV isolation and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver quality outcomes in a complex operational environment.

Metro South Maintenance Services are the incumbent maintenance provider for Metro South Health Hospitals and Health Service (MSH) Facilities, with the primary objective to manage the corrective and preventative maintenance for all MSH infrastructure and facilities. Metro South's asset management objectives define the approach for delivering maintenance outcomes and the role of Maintenance management in supporting the achievement of the organisational objectives.
