About the role

As the Senior Allied Health Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services at Brighton Rehabilitation Unit. Working under the direction of Allied Health Professionals, you will provide advanced clinical support to patients with complex rehabilitation needs, assisting them to maximise their independence, improve functional outcomes, and achieve their therapy goals. You will deliver delegated assessments and treatment programs, facilitate group-based interventions, provide patient education, and contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide a defined range of specialised clinical screening assessments for clients with complex needs, as delegated by a Health Practitioner and compliant with professional practice standards.
  • Provide a defined range of treatments for patients/clients with variable conditions, including using decision support tools, clinical pathways, and patient guidelines.
  • Identify potential changes needed in treatment programs using results from standardised assessment tools and gain endorsement to make these changes following discussion with the supervising Allied Health Professional
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients or groups of patients within defined topic areas.
  • Lead a defined range of group interventions for patients with diverse and complex needs.
