About the role
Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, this influential executive position is responsible for shaping and delivering Metro North Health's health, safety, wellbeing and occupational violence prevention agenda across one of Queensland's largest and most complex healthcare services.
Leading a team of approximately 35 health and safety professionals, you will drive organisational capability, strengthen safety culture, provide expert governance and advice to executive leadership and the Board, and champion innovative approaches that support the wellbeing of our workforce.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead, manage and review the research, analysis and interpretation of complex, sensitive and urgent matters relating to HS issues with competing timeframes for MNHHS.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating contemporary health system knowledge and skills health service management and function in accordance with current legislation, professional standards and codes of conduct.
- Provide expert health and safety, legislative compliance and risk management advice to organisational stakeholders.
- Provide strategic leadership in developing and maintaining effective partnerships and fostering strategic relationships between MNHHS, Department of Health, a range of senior executives, and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve safe systems of work.
