About the role

Temporary part time opportunity to be involved in the provision of Oral & Maxillofacial patient services with a focus on the subspecialty area of Head and Neck cancer surgery and reconstructive surgery.  To assist with the training of registrars as well as undergraduate and post-graduate teaching.  Involvement in research is encouraged.

The Fellow would be appointed to the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital and involve extended responsibilities within other Oral & Maxillofacial Units and the collection of research data. The Fellow will also be required to attend Greenslopes Private Hospital intermittently under supervision. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Develop, plan and oversee components of continuous quality improvement programs, which ensure that clinical aspects of the service are regularly reviewed and that opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's and Metro North Health core values.
  • In conjunction with the Maxillofacial Director, Consultants and Unit heads attend to the management of Maxillofacial Surgery elective surgery waitlists, emergency theatre, outpatient clinics and ward management.
  • Undertake surgery under the supervision of the surgical consultant as required.
  • Provide consultative services and advice to other specialties and hospitals.
