Your Opportunity

As the International Engagement Officer you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to international students and other stakeholders.

This position reports to the Senior International Administration Team Coordinator.

This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 18 December 2026 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at South Bank, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work cohesively with other business units and students to process international students’ enquiries and perform related administrative duties that ensures compliance with Commonwealth and State government requirements. Provide courteous, efficient and timely customer service to international students from arrival in-country and throughout their program of study, including referral to and negotiation with appropriate internal contacts and/or external agencies.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to verbal and written enquiries related to international student applications, enrolments, and other general enquiries by utilising various software packages, systems, databases and web-based technologies, and in accordance with documented procedures and legislation.
  • Provide professional administrative support to international students by undertaking the system processing required to manage changes to course enrolments and associated financial tasks. 
  • Case manage international students by maintaining accurate PRISMS enrolment data to support organisational compliance with the ESOS legislative framework. 
  • Maintain an understanding of the issues pertinent to international students and communicate with faculty and relevant staff to ensure that international student concerns are addressed in a timely manner according to internal policy and legislative requirements where applicable.
  • Maintain and provide accurate information to prospective and enrolled students to sell and on sell TAFE Queensland products and services.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the team by ensuring day to day activities align with business operations.
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices, continually seeking improvement in the way in which work is performed.
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Displays the initiative, positive attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional and responsive customer service including the ability to solve problems and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and manage own workflow effectively within agreed priorities and timeframes.
  • Well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to produce quality written correspondence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in office administration plus a clear willingness to assist team members in the completion of their work and to conduct any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in the international student vocational or tertiary education setting.
