Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Principal Internal Auditor to lead our internal audit function and play a key role in strengthening governance, risk management, compliance and organisational performance across the Health Service. Based in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay or Maryborough, you will provide independent, high-level assurance and strategic advice to the WBHHS Board Audit and Risk Committee, Board and senior executive leadership, helping ensure the organisation has effective systems, controls and processes to manage risk and achieve its strategic objectives.

Your opportunity:
- The Principal Internal Auditor role is responsible for leading and managing the internal audit function for the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS), including the development and delivery of the Annual and Strategic Internal Audit Plan to ensure robust governance, compliance and risk management practices across the organisation.
- The role will provide strategic leadership and independent advice to the WBHHS Board Audit and Risk Committee and senior management by evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance systems, while fostering strong partnerships with the WBHHS Executive to drive continuous improvement and enhance organisational performance.

Our offer:
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $172,401 p.a., comprising salary between $140,796 - $150,371p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO7) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
