About your role
As Nurse Unit Manager – Kidney Dialysis, you'll provide advanced clinical and operational leadership across Bayside Health's Kidney Dialysis service.
In this role you will:
- Lead and coordinate the Kidney Dialysis service across Bayside Health.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership in specialist nephrology nursing.
- Lead a team of approximately 18 FTE and foster a positive team culture.
- Oversee safe staffing, rostering, skill mix and workforce planning.
- Manage human, material and financial resources for the service.
- Drive quality, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion evidence-informed, person-centred care and patient outcomes.
- Lead education, mentoring, professional development and succession planning.
- Monitor service data, performance indicators and clinical outcomes.
- Build strong partnerships across nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
About you
You're an experienced Registered Nurse and inspiring clinical leader with specialist knowledge of kidney dialysis and contemporary nephrology nursing.
You'll bring:
- Advanced knowledge of nephrology and kidney dialysis nursing.
- Strong clinical leadership and specialist nursing expertise.
- Experience managing teams, staffing, rostering and skill mix.
- Strong financial, resource and operational management capability.
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement and service change.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder skills.
- Commitment to education, mentoring and workforce development.
- Ability to analyse service data and drive performance improvement.

About Bayside Health Kidney Dialysis Service
Bayside Health Service provides services within the hospital and community setting such as Emergency Care, Primary Health and Minor Injury Care, Acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
The Bayside Health Kidney Dialysis Service provides maintenance haemodialysis for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on the Redland Hospital Campus at Cleveland. The service has increased to include a second haemodialysis location at the Redland Bay Satellite Health Centre. Patients requiring acute dialysis care or tertiary care will require transfer to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The service is committed to providing high quality person focused care to patients with complex end stage renal failure receiving maintenance haemodialysis.
