The role of the Infectious Diseases Physician is to provide high-quality clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $222,059 to 281,545 p.a. (L18-L27)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- FRACP (or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians) and registrable as a specialist in Infectious Diseases with the Medical Board of Australia. Applications by clinicians who are expected to obtain these qualifications by February 2027 will be considered.
- Highly regarded: Advanced skills in the medical management of patients with infectious diseases and the necessary skills and ability to contribute to the Antimicrobial Stewardship program within a teaching hospital environment.
- Highly regarded: Current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based practice.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- PLEASE NOTE: This position is <12 months thus not suitable for a temporary Visa holder.
