Your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse Child Health provides community-based nursing care across the scope of child health practice delivered within universal and early intervention programs for families and children in the rural health setting. This position will be involved in the delivery of Putting Queensland Kids First initiatives including involvement in sustained home visiting, immunisations and childhood screening including vision and hearing.

You will provide leadership in clinical decision-making to give and/or coordinate care to the children and families within our community (Charleville, Augathella, Cunnamulla, Morven, Quilpie, Thargomindah and surrounds) to ensure timely access to healthcare services.

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The Clinical Nurse assumes responsibility for professional leadership in the service and applies critical thinking across all the domains.

Charleville and St George are both a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:

  • Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
  • Additional annual leave per annum!
