Your new role:

As a Principal House Officer / Registrar within the Logan Hospital Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical care across a busy and diverse maternity and gynaecology service, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team under the supervision and guidance of senior medical staff.

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient Obstetrics & Gynaecology care, including regular rostered shifts across Birth Suite, Acute Gynaecology and Caesarean Section lists.
  • Assess, investigate and manage patients, develop appropriate management plans in consultation with senior medical staff, and ensure safe and effective clinical handover and discharge planning.
  • Develop and apply your clinical and procedural skills, including the ability to perform core Birth Suite and gynaecology skills appropriate to your level of training.

About you:

We are looking for a motivated medical practitioner who is committed to providing safe, patient-centred care and developing their clinical expertise within Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skills and procedural capability to safely assess and manage patients, including in emergency situations under appropriate supervision.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with patients, carers and colleagues.
  • A commitment to postgraduate medical education, continuous learning and professional development, with the ability to respond positively to feedback and identify opportunities to further develop your skills.
  • A minimum of 12 months' obstetric experience would be well regarded. Applicants must hold a relevant medical degree and be registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
