About us:

Rockhampton Hospital's Maternity Service is the main birthing hub for Central Queensland, supporting approximately 1,400 births each year. Our Level 4 service provides care across antenatal, birth and postnatal services, including a 15-bed Antenatal/Postnatal Ward, five-bed Birth Suite, Special Care Nursery and Midwifery Group Practice. You'll join a multidisciplinary team committed to providing safe, individualised and woman-centred care to women, babies and families across Central Queensland.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is completing a Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery to develop their midwifery practice in a supportive clinical environment. Working under the guidance of Registered Midwives, you'll gain experience across the Maternity Unit while continuing to practise as a Registered Nurse, building your clinical capability, professional judgement and autonomy as you progress towards becoming a Registered Midwife.

About you:

We're looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about building a career in midwifery and committed to providing safe, evidence-based and woman-centred care. You'll bring sound clinical skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to build respectful and therapeutic relationships with women and their families.

  • You'll hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and be completing postgraduate studies in a Diploma of Midwifery.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $108,193 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $44.27 - $59.79 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
