About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug care to more than 250,000 people across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana.
With services based across each community, the network provides care close to where people live. Rockhampton is the principal centre, supporting Mental Health Act 2016 administration and acute adult inpatient services, alongside a Step-Up-Step Down facility in Gladstone and an Adult Community Care Unit in Rockhampton.
About the role:
- Provide confidential, high-quality administrative support to a multidisciplinary Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs team, helping clinical services run smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage records and office processes, including chart preparation and maintenance, medical record filing, referrals, appointments, emails, calendars and Medicare/financial documentation.
- Stay organised and adaptable, confidently prioritising urgent tasks, managing competing deadlines and working independently to support team goals.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with consumers and staff across clinical, medical, administrative and management roles, including handling sensitive calls with tact and discretion.
About you:
- Strong communicator who can clearly and confidently share information with consumers and staff, both verbally and in writing.
- Highly organised and accurate, with strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence learning and using multiple systems, including CIMHA.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently, manage priorities and take on more complex tasks when required.
- Calm, discreet and consumer-focused, particularly when screening calls, recognising people in distress and promptly escalating concerns to the appropriate clinical or management staff.
What we offer:
- An hourly rate between $50.21 - $55.84 p.h. (including 25% casual loading)
