About your opportunity

Lead, develop and implement a new acute paediatric day rehabilitation program for children and young people (0-16 years) with acquired brain and spinal cord injuries following motor vehicle accidents. As part of the NIISQ REACH-funded Back to Belonging project, this two-year role offers the opportunity to shape a sustainable service that addresses a critical gap in rehabilitation care across North Queensland, with a view to ongoing service delivery.

Based at Townsville University Hospital, a major paediatric trauma centre, you will provide clinical leadership for service planning, program implementation, quality improvement, data reporting and multidisciplinary collaboration. Working closely with allied health teams, Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS), NIISQ and NDIS providers, you will support improved rehabilitation pathways, community reintegration and positive outcomes for children and families.

The successful candidate will bring extensive knowledge of paediatric rehabilitation, experience in service development and leadership, and a commitment to delivering excellence in patient care, education and research.

This is a temporary full-time position until 24 June 2028, with the possibility of extension subject to ongoing funding. Please note that if funding is extended, the contract end date will align with the approved funding period.
