About us:

The Medical/Surgical Ward 1 Unit is located, Block one on the first floor of the Gladstone Hospital. The service offers a total of 38 inpatient beds which cover sub-acute, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care patients. The Medical/Surgical Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications.

About the role:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across a diverse patient mix, including medical, surgical and sub-acute patients.
  • Build and advance your clinical capability, with motivation to continually develop from novice through to advanced practice.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, building positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a supportive and respectful ward environment.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, while adapting to change and contributing to continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Communicate and connect effectively with patients, families and a wide range of health professionals.
  • Build strong multidisciplinary relationships to support coordinated, patient-centred care.
  • Prioritise quality, safety and risk, recognising their importance in delivering safe healthcare.
  • Be proactive in patient care, confidently identifying and managing patients' needs within the ward while contributing to continuous improvement.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $10,707 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
