About the Cardiac Centre:
The Townsville University Hospital Cardiac Services Unit is the tertiary cardiac referral unit for North Queensland. The unit drains a population of approximately 650,000 people. The Cardiology Unit is part of the overall Surgical Service Group which includes Cardiothoracic surgery.

- Salary range: $137,196 to $192,257 p.a. (L4-L13)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity:
The Fellowship provides training in Adult Interventional Cardiology, including Structural Heart Intervention. This will include training in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Inpatient care and Outpatient assessments. The training is primarily to ensure competency in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. It is expected that the appointee will undertake a research project.
Requirements:
- A medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and at least 3 years post-graduate clinical experience in hospitals – mandatory.
- Completion of advanced training for the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
- Ability to undertake after hours, weekends and on call work.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
