The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Team Lead (Research Development) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Apply specialist research skill and knowledge to promote and support research
- Identify opportunities, and lead the strategic development and delivery of research initiatives and activities
- Lead the development, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of systems, best practice policies, and procedures related to research development
- In collaboration with Research leadership, manage grant funding initiatives and schemes
- Develop and maintain key strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A relevant postgraduate research qualification with research experience approximately equivalent to a research master's degree or higher is a requirement of this role
- Qualification in relevant health practitioner discipline: Audiology, Health Science, Dental Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Environmental Health, Music Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Neurophysiology, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health, Orthoptics, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Radiography, Science (physiology or sleep medicine), Social Work, Sonography or Speech Pathology (as per the attached role description)
- AHPRA or relevant registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (12 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $144,991 - $151,289 per annum
About Us
The Medical Services, Clinical Governance and Research division plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and well-coordinated clinical care and research at Gold Coast Health. Headed by the Chief Medical Officer, the division provides comprehensive support in medical administration through key units such as the Medical Education Unit, Medical Workforce Services Unit, and Medical Workforce and Clinical Practice, while also managing fatigue risk to promote sustainable working conditions for medical staff. In parallel, the Clinical Governance team drives continuous improvement in patient care by upholding core pillars of safety, workforce quality, risk management, and consumer focus.
