About the role

The Emergency Management, Business Continuity & Risk Officer provides specialist leadership and coordination of emergency management, business continuity and risk management activities across the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). The role is responsible for supporting organisational preparedness, response and recovery capability while ensuring robust governance, risk and compliance frameworks are maintained across a diverse healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leaders, clinical and corporate programs, and external stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate emergency management plans, business continuity strategies and risk management systems. The role also contributes to organisational resilience through training, quality improvement initiatives, governance activities and the delivery of expert advice that supports safe and effective healthcare services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Lead and coordinate emergency management, disaster preparedness and business continuity activities to support organisational resilience and service continuity.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate emergency management plans, business continuity plans, training programs and preparedness exercises across the STARS Directorate.
  • Provide expert advice on risk management, compliance and governance matters, supporting the identification, monitoring and mitigation of organisational risks.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support emergency planning, risk management initiatives and change management activities.
  • Coordinate reporting, quality improvement and governance processes that support informed decision-making, legislative compliance and continuous organisational improvement.
