About us:
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95 percent self-sufficient with only a small number of high- level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane.
As part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will deliver comprehensive health services across the Medical Unit, Low Custody Unit, and Offender Development and Treatment (ODT) Program. This diverse role provides opportunities to develop broad clinical expertise while supporting positive health outcomes and rehabilitation pathways for patients in custody.
About your role:
As a Registered Nurse at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a variety of clinical and custodial settings, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and holistic healthcare.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver comprehensive clinical care, including patient assessment, recognising and responding to clinical deterioration, airway monitoring and medication administration.
- Perform routine health assessments, health education, and participation in therapeutic and rehabilitative programs.
- Utilising strong communication, time management, and digital documentation skills to coordinate care and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
