Your new role:

As an Administration Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward. You will provide professional reception and administrative services while assisting patients, visitors and clinical staff in a busy healthcare environment.

  • Provide welcoming reception services and respond to telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
  • Support patient admissions, discharges and transfers, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist with patient flow by coordinating appointments, transport, resources and patient movements.
  • Provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager, including correspondence, filing, reports and data entry.

About you:

We are looking for a professional and organised administration officer who enjoys working with people and contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Well-developed computer and administrative skills, with the ability to learn hospital information systems.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, confidentiality and a positive approach when supporting patients, families and staff.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
