About the role
As a Nurse Practitioner Candidate, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care within a recovery-focused, patient-centred model while building the competencies required for Nurse Practitioner endorsement. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, manage, treat, and refer consumers with complex mental health needs across Metro North Mental Health's Redcliffe and Caboolture services. This role offers a structured pathway to advanced practice and provides opportunities to contribute to clinical leadership, service improvement, education, and research initiatives.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills and follow evidence-based care to manage, diagnose and treat patients in acute and community mental health settings.
- Use specialised planning and assessment skills to develop a comprehensive management plan for implementing and evaluating interventions related to mental health outreach and community care.
- Lead a portfolio to improve the care of patients within acute mental health settings.
- Demonstrate clinical thinking and reasoning and advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement to support the interprofessional team in the management and care of patients within acute and community mental health settings.
