About the Role

In this role you will create systems to sustain high quality delivery for children, young people and families (Leader of Leaders) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

SERVICE

  • Provide high quality strategic clinical leadership to develop clinical excellence in service delivery for CHQ CYMHS.
  • Provide optimal development of specialist expertise for Consultants and Registrars within CHQ CYMHS, aligned with national and state professional standards.
  • Oversight of medical practice and safety & quality activities across CHQ CYMHS to ensure that outstanding care is provided in accordance with ethical principles, consistent with the CHQ HHS Clinical Governance Framework.
  • Provide clinical leadership in linking to broader CHQ state-wide mental health roles, including statewide strategic directions and clinical reform agendas.
  • Work in a collaborative partnership with the Divisional Director CHQ CYMHS to:
    • Develop high quality, evidence informed, consumer focussed services aligned with the CHQ strategic planning, safety and quality frameworks and clinical governance.
    • Provide leadership and strategic planning across the continuum of care within clinical services of CHQ CYMHS, including the support and governance of key clinical service design projects.
  • Represent CHQ CYMHS on local, state and national committees as required, to advocate for and promote optimal child and youth mental health outcomes.
  • Develop and strengthen linkages across the broader health and mental health sector.
  • Chair or provide clinical leadership in key CHQ CYMHS clinical and strategic meetings including the CYMHS Clinical Governance Committee, Clinical Quality and Safety, Consultant Meetings, Mortality and Morbidity (M&M) meetings, and planning days.
  • Work with the Conjoint UQ/CHQ Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to support research to improve child and adolescent psychiatry practice.
