We're excited to welcome an Administration Officer to our Mental Health & Specialised Services Team.

The Administration Officer provides a high level of confidential administrative support for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This position is a prime point of contact for internal communication on a daily basis and externally with various departments and agencies. This position is to provide relief (backfill) for short / long term leave of permanent incumbents across various departments.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate effective communication, flexibility and a willingness to learn a variety of roles in the different areas of Mental Health and Specialised Services. The scope of the role is broad and there is an expectation that the successful applicant will be able to work to the full scope, adapt quickly and work with multidisciplinary teams to provide person centred services.
Mental Health and Specialised Services provides a publicly funded specialised mental health service to people, who have complex mental health problems and who live on the Sunshine Coast.
The Administration Officer is a frontline position and is the first point of contact for consumers of the Mental Health Service, their families and carer and all external and internal stakeholders accessing the service. This position provides customer service excellence while upholding patient confidentiality and utilising discretion.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Exercise judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined.
- Effectively communicate with customers and demonstrate understanding, empathy, patience and a positive service focus.
- Provide advice and support in the admission and discharge planning process for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients presenting to the Sunshine Coast Health.
- Undertake “cultural assessment/risk screening” to identify patient needs and optimise the patient's recovery / outcomes on discharge from the acute care setting.
Remuneration value up to $101,073 p.a., comprising salary between $79,658 - $88,586 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO3).
