The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) provides safety and quality management in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NG7) of the Emergency Department. In supporting the NUM, the ANUM provides leadership and direction to Nursing staff and is responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality and cost-effective nursing care consistent with contemporary standards and best practice within the Emergency Department.

About the Team
The QCH provides the only Level 6 paediatric emergency service in Queensland for children and young people from all over Queensland (as well as northern New South Wales and the Pacific Rim) up to their 16th birthday (and up to the age of 18 years for pre-existing chronic or congenital conditions, and mental health conditions). The QCH also provides lower-level paediatric emergency service to children from the local catchment area. Emergency operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency providing initial assessment and management of all acute presentations to the QCH Emergency Short Stay Unit (ESSU) where patients who meet the ESSU admission criteria are admitted for between 2 and 24 hours for further observation, treatment, or specialist assessment. The Emergency Department is committed to the First Nation Health Equity Strategy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6.2 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
