We're excited to welcome a Social Worker Senior to the Brain Injury Community Integration Service.
The Brain Injury Community Integration Service (BICS) aims to provide timely and equitable access to specialist acquired brain injury (ABI) community rehabilitation and case management to support individuals with moderate to severe acquire brain injuries. BICS was piloted through the Statewide Brain and Spinal Cord Injury (BaSCI) Project and received permanent funding in July 2025.BICS forms part of the community component of the ABI rehabilitation continuum offered within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, alongside Neurointensive Rehabilitation (NIR), Complex Concussion Clinic, Day Rehabilitation (Nambour) and the Community Rehabilitation Team (CRT).
As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level clinical services and case management for the Brain Injury Community Integration Service, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and outreach to Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
Clinicians within BICS work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff will be required to work across other clinical services and facilities within [directorate(s)] as required to assist in meeting patient care needs, managing leave cover, and succession planning of staff. Staff may be required to rotate across SCH as per Allied Health Rotation Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Utilise specialist clinical knowledge, skills and experience to provide discipline specific rehabilitation interventions and clinical case management to patients with an acquired brain injury.
- Deliver independent high level clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced practitioners and students as delegated.
Remuneration value up to $125, 887.20 p.a, comprising salary rates $64.64 - $69.55 p.h., (part time, 60.8 hrs p.f.), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Applications will remain current for 12 months / the duration of the vacancy.
