Role details

Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking applications for an Executive Director, Rural Services to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

As a member of the Mackay HHS Executive Leadership Team, you will contribute effectively to the Mackay HHS Board's strategic agenda. This will encompass the delivery of safe and equitable health services, and to be a partner in the delivery of a wider range of services to the population of the Mackay Region with the intrinsic intention of improving the health of the population.

Working as part of the executive leadership team and in partnership with the Directors of Nursing within rural facilities, you will provide strategic leadership, direction and operational management within the portfolio. 

This position reports to the Chief Executive and has operational responsibility for Sarina Hospital, Moranbah Hospital/Glenden Primary Health, Clermont Multi-Purpose Health Service, Dysart Hospital/Middlemount Primary Health, Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service, Bowen Hospital and Whitsunday Health Service. The position is responsible for approximately 465 FTE and an operating budget of $124 million.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
