About us:
Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed facility providing a broad mix of general, specialist, inpatient, outpatient and community services across the region. Its Perioperative Unit is a key part of the hospital's surgical services, with two operating theatres and a procedure room supporting both elective and emergency surgery.
The unit also provides Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic and Central Sterilising Services, delivering care across a varied surgical caseload. The Perioperative team is committed to high-quality, evidence-based patient care, with clinical standards supported by ongoing research and the continual development of best-practice approaches.
About the role:
- Strong focus on supporting the safe and effective delivery of sterilisation processes.
- Undertake delegated tasks, follow standard procedures and contribute to infection prevention, sterilisation and maintaining a safe healthcare environment.
- Assist with stock and supply management, complete delegated procedures, follow organisational protocols and report incidents to support safe practice.
- Participate in education, maintain ongoing learning and development, and contribute to relevant evaluation and research activities.
About you:
- Certificate III in Sterilisation Services is mandatory, with sound evidence-based skills appropriate to your level of practice.
- Provides safe, respectful and high-quality care, with strong attention to patients' basic needs and wellbeing.
- Works collaboratively, adapts to change and builds positive working relationships across the team.
- Communicates promptly, accurately and respectfully with patients, carers and colleagues, using negotiation skills to manage challenging situations.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $56,798 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $38.11 - $39.22 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
