About the role

As the Emergency Department Rostering Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day workforce operations of the Emergency Department. Working closely with medical staff, managers, and key stakeholders, you'll ensure junior doctors are appropriately rostered and supported while maintaining compliance with awards, agreements, and Queensland Health policies. Reporting operationally to the Administration Supervisor, Emergency Department, you will contribute to a high-performing team that supports the delivery of exceptional patient care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Plotting rosters that allocate rotating and locum Junior Medical Officers in accordance with agreed departmental ratios, skill mix requirements, and the Digital Medical Rostering Board, for approval by the delegated authority.
  • Apply relevant Awards, Certified Agreements, and HR policies when completing Rostering and Payroll tasks, referring complex matters to senior staff
  • Manage planned and unplanned leave requests and amendments, ensuring appropriate 24/7 staffing, seeking guidance from the Clinical Director as required
  • Carry out administrative duties associated with recruitment related activities including scheduling interviews, submitting system access requests for staff / new starters, scheduling departmental orientation, emailing of rosters, etc. to support the Director
  • Provide administrative support for payroll, recruitment, and rostering processes, including preparing documentation, data entry, and maintaining accurate records in line with established procedures.
