Your new role:
As a Registered Nurse in the Casual Nurse Pool, you'll provide safe, compassionate and evidence-based care while working collaboratively with nursing, allied health and medical teams. This is an opportunity to broaden your clinical experience, adapt to changing environments and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families and the broader interprofessional healthcare team.
- Use critical thinking, flexibility and time management to prioritise care and respond to changing clinical needs.
- Adapt quickly to different nursing models, clinical environments and team requirements.
- Contribute to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, education and professional development.
- Utilise the Electronic Medical Record and other information technology systems to support safe, effective care.
About you:
We're looking for a Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical skills, a commitment to person-centred care and the adaptability to work across different clinical areas. You'll be a collaborative team member who demonstrates professional integrity, sound clinical judgement and a commitment to continuous learning.
You will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and care-planning skills.
- The ability to work confidently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
- Flexibility and willingness to work across all clinical areas and a range of shifts.
- A demonstrated commitment to compassionate care, teamwork, empathy, integrity and respect.

About us:
The Casual Pool (CNP) is a unique unit within the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The unit has no set roster, allowing staff to nominate shifts according to their availability and work depending upon hospital needs, Casual Pool nurses are assigned to areas throughout the hospital to cover emergent leave on the wards. Staff in the Casual Pool come from varying backgrounds with broad skills that can be applied to various areas within the hospital.
