About the role

An exciting leadership opportunity exists to lead the Community Care Unit (CCU) and Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team (MIRT) within Metro North Mental Health at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. This role is responsible for providing strategic and operational nursing leadership across community-based mental health rehabilitation services, ensuring the delivery of safe, recovery-focused and consumer-centred care.

Working closely with multidisciplinary leaders and stakeholders, you will drive service performance, workforce capability and clinical excellence across both programs. The position combines clinical governance, operational management and people leadership, with accountability for nursing practice standards, service outcomes and the ongoing development of a positive, contemporary mental health service.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Lead and coordinate nursing and multidisciplinary teams across the Community Care Unit and Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused mental health services.
  • Provide advanced clinical and operational leadership while driving achievement of service objectives, performance targets and contemporary nursing practice standards.
  • Monitor and improve quality, safety and clinical governance outcomes through the use of evidence-based practice, research, education and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop workforce capability through mentoring, succession planning, performance development, education and a strong focus on staff wellbeing and engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively with consumers, carers, clinicians and service partners to promote integrated care, positive consumer outcomes and service innovation.
