Rockhampton Hospital is looking for a Director’s Secretary to join the team from October 2026 to January 2028. If you’re organised, confident and love being the person who has their finger on the office pulse, this could be right up your alley!

Keep Directors and their teams on track by managing diaries, meetings, agendas, correspondence, communications and all those behind-the-scenes details that make a busy office tick. You’ll also be a key point of contact, work autonomously and bring your excellent problem-solving and people skills to a fast-moving hospital environment.

About the role:

  • Keep everyone on track. Manage diaries, meetings, agendas, rooms, equipment and all the little details that make a busy office tick.
  • Be the communication superstar. Act as the Directors' go-to contact, manage calls and correspondence, and make sure messages get where they need to go.
  • Make admin look easy. Handle data entry, documents, spreadsheets and office needs while juggling priorities and hitting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Be the calm in the chaos. Work independently, support the team and bring empathy, patience and a positive attitude to every interaction—even when things get busy!

About you:

  • 🗂️Strong clerical and secretarial skills, and can confidently handle minutes, agendas, meetings and correspondence.
  • 💻 Comfortable with reception, word processing and spreadsheets, and can quickly get your head around hospital systems like myHR, S4HANA and HBCIS.
  • 🧠 Can work autonomously, solve problems, juggle competing priorities and keep things moving—even when the decision-makers aren't around!
  • 🤝 You bring tact, diplomacy and discretion to every interaction and can confidently connect with everyone from senior leaders to the public.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $8,423 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $40.17 - $44.67 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
