Role details
The People and Culture Portfolio at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Business Support Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing high level project, financial and administrative support for the diverse range of functions encompassed within People & Culture, with the primary support focus on the People & Culture management team.
While organisationally reporting to the Executive Director People & Culture this position has a key day to day working relationship with assigned members of the People & Culture Portfolio, and daily functionally reports to the People Management Team, and direct/indirect relationships with:
- Members of the Executive Leadership Team
- Senior Leaders and support staff throughout the Mackay Hospital and Health Service
- Other health system partners and providers.
About the Team
The People and Culture Portfolio plays a pivotal role in supporting the strategic objectives of the MHHS. Comprising of Employment Relations, Organisational Development, Work Health and Safety, and Recruitment, the portfolio provides expert guidance and operational support across key workforce domains.
Its core mandate is to develop and implement workforce strategies that ensure that MHHS is equipped with the necessary skills, capabilities, and organisational culture to meet both current and future service demands. This includes initiatives focused on workforce supply, recruitment and retention, leadership development, and the promotion of safe and healthy working environments.
By fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement, the People and Culture Portfolio contributes directly to creating a respectful, inclusive, empowering and caring place to work, learn and grow.
About our Hospital and Health Service
Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
