Your new role:

Join Metro South Health as a Carpenter and play a vital role in maintaining our healthcare facilities across the service. You'll undertake planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, installations and infrastructure works, using your trade expertise to deliver safe, high-quality and cost-effective outcomes. Working both independently and as part of a skilled trades team, you'll troubleshoot issues, coordinate contractors and materials, and help keep our facilities operating safely and efficiently. This role also participates in an on-call roster.

About you:

Bring your trade skills to a role where the work you do every day helps keep essential healthcare services safe, functional and running smoothly.

  • Qualified and hands-on – hold a Certificate III in Carpentry, Joinery, Cabinet Making or Shopfitting and bring solid trade experience.
  • A practical problem-solver – confident diagnosing issues, finding solutions and delivering quality maintenance and repair outcomes.
  • Organised and self-driven – able to manage competing priorities, plan your work and get the job done with minimal supervision.
  • A great team player – communicate confidently with trades teams, contractors and stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
  • Safety comes first – committed to WHS, industry standards and Metro South Health's ICARE² values, with the flexibility to participate in an on-call roster.

Metro South Maintenance Services

Metro South Maintenance Services plays a vital role in keeping Metro South Health's hospitals and facilities safe, functional and well maintained through planned and reactive maintenance of infrastructure and assets. Our service model brings together a multi-skilled trades workforce, centralised planning and support, and a strong focus on continuous improvement and client service. While trades staff have a nominated base location, you'll have the opportunity to work across Metro South Health facilities, contributing your skills wherever they're needed to support the delivery of quality healthcare services.
