Provide allied health leadership in CABS by promoting and delivering safe, competent and flexible child development practice aligned to professional Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy standards. Additionally, provide clinical and problem-solving skills in the full scope of senior allied health practice in relation to delivering an integrated referral, triage and first clinical management service for children and their families/carers.

About the Role

Your contribution will include:

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based practice in the areas of child health, developmental disorders and disability, with a requirement to exercise a high level of complex problem solving and apply clinical expertise across the breadth of developmental domains.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary team structure, which may include clinical triage and telephone based initial assessment as required. Health Practitioners working in clinical triage may also be required to support clinical activity within the Child Development Program, as needed.
• Utilise high-level critical thinking and reasoning skills to coordinate and prioritise access and services for families as well as support appropriate linkage with other health related services.
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and computer skills to effectively liaise with referrers, other service providers and families to ensure understanding of referral and care coordination outcomes.
• Ability to lead and participate in service quality improvement and research activities that support and promote evidence-based senior allied health practice and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to promote clinical and professional standards through the application of relevant legislation and frameworks which support best practice, contribute to service improvement and minimise risk.
• Provide representation for the CABS Team Leader on inter-agency committees and multidisciplinary working parties related to improving access, and service eligibility in Child Development and Child Health at a Divisional and HHS level as required.
