Your new role:

As the Administration Officer - Relief Pool Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the Patient Administration Services Relief Pool, ensuring skilled administrative staff are available to meet the changing needs of services across Bayside Health Service. You will:

  • Lead and manage the relief team, overseeing the professional and operational management of administrative staff while supporting performance, development and mandatory training requirements.
  • Coordinate workforce requirements, including recruitment, selection, rostering and leave management, ensuring planned and unplanned shifts are appropriately filled and staff are allocated within their training and role guidelines.
  • Monitor and improve the service, providing regular relief trends and workforce reports, conducting quality audits and identifying opportunities to improve systems, procedures and resource efficiency.
  • Build a culture of quality and patient safety, working collaboratively with Cluster Managers and stakeholders and ensuring staff and patients are treated with fairness, respect and understanding.

About you:

You are an organised and confident people leader who can balance competing priorities, make sound decisions and respond effectively to the day-to-day workforce demands of a busy healthcare environment.

  • A capable people leader who can manage staff performance and outcomes while actively supporting the development and ongoing capability of team members.
  • A strong planner and problem solver who can analyse information, exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions in complex operational situations.
  • An accomplished workforce coordinator with the ability to analyse staffing requirements, develop rosters and respond to planned and unplanned leave while maintaining service delivery.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with strong organisational skills and the ability to identify, analyse and implement practical improvements to systems, processes and resource management.

About the Patient Administration Services

Patient Administrative Services, which is an element of the wider Corporate Services Division, provides administrative staff within the following department, Switchboard Services, Main Reception, Volunteer Services, Car Park, Minor Injuries and Illness Centre (Redland Satellite Health Centre), Administrative Float Role, Administrative Relief Pool.
